♦ SERIES ♦ DO ONE SAFETY THING EACH MONTH ♦ SERIES ♦
If you do just one thing a month to change the safety mind-set, in one year you will have done 12 things to raise safety awareness. Every month you will receive one such SAFETY TIP.

THIS MONTH:    LET IT ALL HANG OUT

Airing a company’s “dirty laundry” is not always a bad thing.

Hunt down all old and damaged chairs by looking behind buildings, in store rooms, change rooms and canteens and those ‘hidden’ places where people might choose to take a rest. Often those chairs that are being disposed of by the managers and office staff, are not being scrapped and they get a second life in some remote location. Chairs, no longer seen fit for use, should be destroyed by cutting them to pieces.

To encourage people to come forward and give up their chairs, offer a moratorium and ‘no questions asked’ replacement of all unsafe chairs.

Display these ‘prize’ chairs at the entrance to your works for all to see and learn that this is not an acceptable practice.
