♦ SERIES ♦ DO ONE SAFETY THING EACH MONTH ♦ SERIES ♦
If you do just one thing a month to change the safety mind-set, in one year you will have done 12 things to raise safety awareness. Every month you will receive one such SAFETY TIP.

THIS MONTH:    SAFETY VIOLATIONS CHARITY DRIVE

Get a copy of a parking ticket from your traffic department and modify it to carry your company’s name and details. Duplicate and bind into books, one for each safety manager and safety rep. Agree on a rate for your ‘traffic fines’ to be paid into your chosen charity fund.

Do a ‘Blitz’ where all your safety people, including your managers, go out and issue traffic fines for anyone seen violating your safety rules – ignoring safety signs, not using PPE correctly, storage outside or over yellow lines, poor housekeeping, poor storage and stacking, etc.

You can also do this as part of your next audit. Make sure the element of FUN remains and this does not become a blaming exercise. Get the balance right by issuing some ‘traffic fines’ for the offices of the senior managers, the line managers or the responsible coaches.
